The Slovak branch of the Human rights organization Amnesty International still sees elements of discrimination present in the everyday life of Slovakia. As presented in its recently released annual report the most vivid example would be the segregation of Roma children in Slovak schools. Amnesty International criticizes the fact, that these children are kept in solely Roma classes or that they are put into so called special schools. On the other hand, the report mentions also positives. "There have been positive things happening in Slovakia, as well. We continued to accept the former Guantanamo prisoners as well as the fact that the Slovak government were very active in accepting the world contract regarding the trade in arms", stated Lenka Machlicová from the Slovak branch of Amnesty International.
