One in two audits of medical practices' accounting carried out in the second half of last year by the Financial Directorate has revealed errors. Tax offices selected approximately 40 entities for such audits. So far, ten checks have been completed and half the cases have shown that the law was violated, resulting in extra tax payments of several thousand euro. The audit focuses on whether all relevant income was declared and whether all declared costs were related to their real functions.
