The Slovak capital Bratislava has become even more attractive for foreign tourists. Moreover, foreign tourists no longer see Bratislava as simply a place to 'party' or as a 'quick excursion' out of Vienna while travelling across Europe, stated Bratislava regional governor Pavol Frešo for the TASR press agency.
Visitors are now frequently planning to spend several days in Bratislava and discover the beauties of the entire region, he stated citing data from the Slovak Statistics office. According to them the number of overnight stays in the Slovak capital went up by some 24 percent over the first three months of 2013. Simultaneously, the number of foreign tourists to the Bratislava region went up and the capital hosted approximately 200,000 tourists.
