Opposition proposes toughening rules for companies’ restructuring

A company that undergoes restructuring will be able to apply for public commissions only if it satisfies its creditors in at least at 65 percent of their justified claims, according to a proposal of 50 Opposition MPs presented on Monday. The group of lawmakers wants to protect self-employed and small entrepreneurs who haven't seen their invoices paid by large companies - a situation that has brought them on the verge of seeing their property seized. The opposition presented its call after the ruling SMER-SD party rejected at the last session of the Parliament its two draft amendments to the law on bankruptcy and restructuring to enhance the protection of aggrieved individuals.
