President: Debt towards LGBT minority increases after referendum

The discussion leading up to the 'referendum on the family' showed how many people fail to understand what is troubling the LGBT minority, what the minority wants and how it lives, President Andrej Kiska said in a statement in response to the referendum that took place on Saturday and turned out to be invalid. He went on to express his readiness to take his share of responsibility en route to addressing this debt. "If the prime minister and the Government view a discussion moderated by the president to be helpful on the path to understanding, I stand ready to contribute to gradually erasing this debt", said Kiska. A statement from the Government's press department, however, read that the outcome of the referendum does not impose any legal or political obligations on the Cabinet.
