The ratio of made-in-Slovakia foodstuffs on shop shelves was measured at just over 63 percent in the second quarter of 2014, which is roughly on a par with the figure for the first half of the year, according to the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry. The figure is based on mandatory reports as sent by 47 retail chains. The share of Slovak foodstuffs remained unchanged notwithstanding Russia's ban on food imports from the European Union which had triggered worries exporters will try to place their surplus on the Slovak market.
