Peter Burian, the Foreign and European Ministry State Secretary met with Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia Pan Weifang on Tuesday to discuss possibilities targeted at boosting the economic co-operation between Slovakia and China. Burian explained how such talks play an important part in the economic relations between the two countries, pointing out the importance of the upcoming 10th joint session of the Slovak-Chinese committee for trade and economic co-operation, which is to take place in Beijing in September.
Both politicians agreed that the session will be more than a formality, and it will result specific projects. “We believe that the session will help to identify business opportunities, subsequently opening the door to both Slovak and Chinese companies," added Burian. Slovakia will be represented in China by both government officials and also a business mission.
