A Slovak man, aged 32 who on Monday came to the building of the European Parliament in Brussels dressed in military camouflage gear and wanted to meet with European Parliament Chairman Martin Schulz has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and the preparation for terrorist attack on Belgian soil. This charge was announced on Tuesday by the spokesperson for the Brussels Prosecutor's Office. The man is currently prosecuted in custody. He was arrested by police on Monday and didn't display aggressive behaviour or put up any resistance. The police found his car parked adjacent to the administration building of the European Parliament and in it they found a firearm and a chainsaw, which prompted them to evacuate the building and the adjacent visitor's centre.
