New changes in NATO don’t concern Slovakia yet
The North Atlantic Alliance is preparing changes, in an amount which have not been seen since the end of the Cold War. Six new command centres should be found in Central and Eastern European countries, as their creation is associated with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, however, the Slovak daily Pravda reports that Slovakia and Hungary are not yet a concern of these changes. Although both countries have a border with Ukraine, according to several experts Bratislava and Budapest have been sending out many conflicting signals in recent months. For example, the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico once compared the possibility of NATO troops being located in the country to the arrival of Warsaw Pact troops in 1968.
