As far as the fight against terrorism goes, all countries should have the right to adopt laws that would give a free hand to the police to collect information concerning the private lives of people who involve potential risk, Prime Minister Robert Fico stated on RTVS's Saturday discussion show. "Maybe, the world and various events will force us to adopt measures whereby different rules will apply to a certain category of people, as concerns their privacy, telephone and bank accounts," specified Fico. Alluding to the recent terrorist attacks in France, the premier said that Slovakia can't afford to act as if this problem didn't concern them. As the country is fully aware of the threat, the police are already able to monitor certain people, added the official.
