Unemployment rate creeps upwards

The unemployment rate in Slovakia reached 12.29 percent in December 2014. Compared to late November of last year it represented an increase of 0.04 percentage points. In annual terms, the registered unemployment rate last month fell by 1.21 percentage points. Director General of the Central Office for Labour, Social Affairs and Family Marián Valentovič informed on this latest development at a Tuesday news conference. The number of job seekers available to take up jobs immediately reached 331,733 people at the end of last month. Compared to November 2014, this is an increase of 1,216 people.
