Kosice Zoo to open new facility for Siberian Ibex

As of later this year visitors at Košice Zoo will be able to see the Siberian ibex, a species of ibex that lives in central Asia, especially in the Altai Mountains, said the zoo's director Erich Kočner. A new breeding facility will be built at the zoo for the animal under a project of cross-border cooperation between Slovakia and Hungary with financial support from EU funds. "The enclosure will expand the current viewing area of the zoo by nearly one hectare," said Kočner. The project should be completed by June 2015.
