Minimum monthly social security contributions paid by the self-employed will increase to €136.57 per month from January next year. This is because the average wage in Slovakia in 2013 according to the Statistics Office rose by 2.4 % to €824. They will also pay higher mandatory contributions to the health insurance system every month; at least €57.68 no matter whether they made some money or not that particular month.
