The Foreign and European Affairs Ministry provided almost €500,000 in humanitarian aid abroad this year, said ministry spokesman Peter Stano. The sum of €110,000 was allocated in aid for Syrian, Palestinian and Kurdish refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, the West Bank of Jordan and Gaza Strip. In May, the ministry sent €260,000 to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were hit by severe flooding. Ukraine has received more than €114,000 from the ministry so far, with the money being spent on different causes, e.g. for rehabilitation stays for former Ukrainian soldiers, protesters, injured soldiers and war orphans. The ministry also provided €15,000 to the WHO in the effort to fight the Ebola epidemics in various regions of western Africa.
