Christmas in Slovakia will be almost without snow

There will be only very little snow in Slovakia this Christmas, stated Pavol Beránek from the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) on Sunday. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be snow-free almost everywhere at low and medium altitudes. Only valleys and basins in northern Slovakia may expect some snow. SHMU expects that the daytime highs during the Christmas holidays may initially reach between 2 degrees Celsius in the north and as much as 11 degrees Celsius in the Bratislava area. "It's necessary to count on relatively windy weather throughout the three-day holiday, mainly in the mountains," added Beránek.
