Insufficient law enforcement, corruption, as well as high taxes and levies are the main barriers hampering the business activities of Slovak entrepreneurs, representatives of the Slovak Business Alliance (PAS) and the Slovak Entrepreneurs Association (ZPS) concurred on Tuesday at their meeting with President Andrej Kiska. "President Kiska was mainly concerned with the biggest problems ailing business organisations so that he could take the knowledge of entrepreneurs into consideration when making decisions concerning bills", the President's Office press department stated after the meeting. PAS executive director Róbert Kičina said that the organisation encouraged the president to make sure that approved legislation is of high quality and to veto laws that could contribute to a worsening of the business environment. Kičina at the same time praised Kiska for sending back to Parliament several problematic bills, including an amendment to the Business Code and an amendment to the School Act that involved bans on sales of sweets and junk food in school tuck shops.
