Slovaks of all age categories are aiming to be financially secure once they reach retirement age, according to a survey done by Stem Mark agency in November. As far as the age category of 45-60 years is concerned, close to 60 percent of people are making savings - either on a regular basis or not - specifically towards retirment. An even bigger group of people are saving for their pensions in the 30-44 age category. The survey also found that 65 percent of those who haven't saved anything say that this is because they have no money left from their current earnings. Those saving most usually estimate their cash cushion upon retiring to be anywhere between €2,000 and €7,000. Only 8.6 percent of people expect to have more than €18,600 in savings at their disposal when they retire.
