Ever more Slovaks leaving Christmas chores to others

More and more Slovaks are preferring to leave it to the professionals when it comes to the chores associated with preparing for Christmas, according to a survey carried out by the agency STEM/MARK. According to the survey, some 48 percent of the respondents said that they have had gifts wrapped at stores. In addition, 42 percent admitted that they have had Christmas biscuits and cakes baked by somebody else, while 23 percent stated that they pay for carp that has been already killed, scaled and cleaned. "People like to leave many activities to others in order to save some time. However, you shouldn't forget the family budget in this case. While some activities consume €1, house cleaning and baking can even amount to €100 when put together", said Home Credit analyst Michal Kozub. Nevertheless, there is still a large number of people who manage to do all these chores by themselves. According to the results of the survey, as many as 77 percent of the respondents at least contributed towards Christmas preparations last year, with another 18 percent claiming that they attended to everything themselves.
