Compared to May, the unemployment rate in Slovakia in June fell by 0.01 percent to 14.25 percent. This is according to figures published by the Central Office for Labour, Social Affairs, and Family. At the end of last month, labour offices registered 384,696 unemployed people who can start working immediately. Compared to the end of May, the number is a decrease of 281 people.
Compared to June of last year, the registered unemployment rate last month rose by 0.91 percent and the number of registered unemployed increased by nearly 24,000. The overall number of unemployed, including people on sick leave or graduate internships at the end of June was 418,200. In month-on-an terms their number increased by 2,800 persons. Unemployment rate, which is calculated from the total number of unemployed in June increased month-on-month by 0.10 percentage points to 15.49 percent. Compared to June 2012, this represents growth by 0.85 percentage points.
