When Peter Sagan wins again the green Jersey he will receive a trophy designed by a second Slovak, Peter Olah. “I really hope and wish that it happens again, after last year it was such a great feeling that a fellow Slovak won a trophy I designed” said 35 year old Peter.
Olah, who works with many international associations and championships, was given the chance to design for the Tour three years ago. The prize for the 2011 edition, he changed from the usual bowl to a crystal vase, which for him has its own symbolism. “Firstly, the shape is wide, as if to feel the tension, where all the riders start from almost the same position, and how the peloton condenses and the expanding as they reach to cross the finishing line first” said Peter Olah.
