Bratislava's regional police have revealed that within a period of 7 days, up to 60 incidents occurred when thieves broke car windows and stole drivers’ airbags. The preferred targets for such thefts seem to be Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel vehicles. The damage caused reached tens of thousands of euro. Police spokeswoman, Petra Hrášková, said that police patrols were being stepped up and that other measures were being taken but she was unable to reveal what these were due to operational and tactical reasons.
