By the end of June of this year Slovakia had absorbed €4.91 billion from European Union funds allocated for the current programming period. Drawing of the allocated funds thus reached the level of 42.25 percent.
The most successful area has been healthcare where slightly over two thirds of the funds have been already used, followed by the Regional Operational Program with 63 percent. According to the Finance Ministry, Slovakia needs to absorb at least €1.15 billion until the end of this year at the national level.
