In the previous academic year 2,685 Slovak students took part in the Erasmus study exchange programme, according to data released by the European Commission. The Czech Republic and Germany were the most popular destinations followed by Spain, France, and Poland.
"We're still among the countries that send out more students than they receive. We sent 2,650 students abroad, while 1,365 foreign students came here to study," said Andrej Kralik of the European Commission Representation in Slovakia. Poles and Spaniards topped the list of foreign students coming to Slovakia via the Erasmus Programme.
