According to report prepared by UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Slovakia needs to take serious measures to tackle gender inequality. As the Committee pointed out, the number of women in public sector or in decision-making bodies and political parties is still very low. Moreover, women in Slovakia still do not earn as much as their male colleagues doing the same job.
The Committee recommends that Slovakia should not only tackle the gender pay gap but also concentrate more on high unemployment rates. Based on the report the biggest problem regarding unemployment in Slovakia is the number of young people without a job and the differences between the regions.
