Youth unemployment, building the economic and monetary union and financing of the economy are all topics Prime Minister Robert Fico flew off on Thursday to Brussels to discuss with his counterparts of the V4 countries (the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia), the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz and leaders of EU member states. They are also to debate the implementation of measures stemming from the Pact for growth and employment.
They will also talk about how to improve the usage of active job market policies and effectively use structural funds to the benefit the young unemployed. The aim is to secure that the Youth Employment Initiative is fully functional as of January 2014. In the area of finances, the high representative’s discussions will focus mainly on improving access to mortgages and financing of small and medium size enterprises.
