As of mid September the biggest eastern Slovak town of Kosice is to have a direct flight to London, or more specifically to Luton airport. The service will be available twice a week for the first five weeks and there are plans to expand this to four times a week in the future. “If we find out that there's a greater interest in this service, we may even operate it daily,” stated Jozsef Varadi of Wizz Air.
Representatives of the Kosice International Airport claim this is an important step which will help the development of the city and its region in the area of tourism as well as business.
