One of the Two Slovak Alpinists Missing in Pakistan Confirmed Dead

On Tuesday the Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister, Miroslav Lajčák, confirmed that one of the victims of the attack on the camp of an expedition to the Nanga Parbat peak in Pakistan was Slovak. He did not say, however, what was the victim’s name.

Two Slovak experienced mountain climbers, Anton Dobeš and Peter Sperka, were part of the expedition that came under attack. It’s still unclear who were the attackers, some Islamist cells competing for the claim, but they left behind 10 alpinists and one local guide dead.
