Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič arrived at the international logistics exercise Capable Logistician 2013 being held in Lešť, central Slovakia, from Monday June 17th. Alongside representatives of NATO, Defence ministers and Chiefs of general staff of V4 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) he is there to observe the trainings of nearly 1,800 troops from 35 NATO member and partner countries.
This is the largest logistical exercise in the past 10 years which will go on until June 26th. A two day conference organised by the Centre for European and North Atlantic relations is accompanying the event. Their talks will also touch the topic of the re-instalment of NATO forces in Afghanistan after the year 2014, the protection of energy supplies, and the creation of the V4 Battle group.
