A 25 year old male driver in the town of Kysucké Nové Mesto in Northern Slovakia could face up to two years behind bars for driving under the influence of alcohol and subsequently crashing a taxi twice. After initially crashing a taxi into a private passenger car, the driver fled from the scene, minutes later crashing again as he drove up onto a concrete divider.
The man was then apprehended by police and was found to have 1 mg of alcohol per litre of breath, despite Slovakia implementing an alcohol limit of absolute zero. “The 25-year-old man has been charged with endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance, and if found guilty could face imprisonment of up to two years,” said Police spokesperson Jana Balogová.
