Prime Minister Robert Fico says the government and Parliament must do everything possible to complete their current term and ensure that the next general election takes place as scheduled.
Speaking on Wednesday, Robert Fico said his Smer-SD parliamentary group remained stable, while blaming coalition partners SNS and Hlas-SD for the current uncertainty over the government's parliamentary majority.
He said closer talks with individual MPs would be needed to secure support for legislation.
Smer-SD parliamentary group leader Ján Richter also pledged to keep his MPs together and continue negotiations with coalition partners and other parliamentary groups.
However, he warned that some bills might fail to pass, including around 60 laws that the government hopes to have approved by the end of the year.
