Slovak Bishops’ Conference President Stanislav Zvolenský met Vatican diplomat Mihait Blaj in Bratislava on Monday to discuss the Catholic Church in Slovakia and relations with the Holy See. The talks focused on the Church’s pastoral work, particularly with young people, and its contacts with civic and political representatives. Zvolenský said the meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere and highlighted both positive developments and challenges facing young people, including difficulties within their families.
Blaj described relations between Slovakia and the Holy See as excellent and continuing to strengthen. He also recalled the 25th anniversary of the framework agreement between the two sides, as well as decades of diplomatic ties dating back to Slovakia’s independence.
