Slovaks will head to the polls on Saturday for combined local and regional elections, with polling stations open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Interior Ministry official Martin Gajdoš reminded voters that they can request new ballot papers if they make a mistake, while an election helpline will be available throughout the day. He also warned that removing ballot papers from polling stations may result in a fine, while serious disruptions could constitute a criminal offence. Political scientist Tomáš Jahelka from Trnava University urged voters to arrive prepared and assess candidates based on their previous achievements, stressing that local government decisions directly affect everyday life.
