At the beginning of autumn, the number of people seeking psychiatric care tends to rise, according to data from Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa (VšZP), Slovakia’s state-owned public health insurer. The statistics show a significant increase in visits to psychiatric outpatient clinics, particularly among children and young adults. Anxiety and depressive disorders are among the most common diagnoses. VšZP stresses that mental health care should not be overlooked and emphasizes the importance of seeking professional help as early as possible.
