Power utility Slovenske elektrarne (SE) has delayed the synchronisation of the fourth unit of the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) with the electricity grid, originally planned for Tuesday, informed SE spokesperson Lenka Šarláková.
Šarláková explained that an anomalous response was recorded in the voltage measurement circuits of the non-nuclear section of the equipment during primary voltage tests on the generator of the Mochovce NPP's fourth unit. In line with strict safety and quality requirements, SE decided to repeat part of the technical tests to reliably confirm the satisfactory condition of the equipment. According to her, this is a standard procedure when commissioning a nuclear power facility.
"The event has no impact on nuclear safety, and we expect to reach this milestone in the coming days," stated Šarláková.
