Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) criticised a sculpture mocking US President Donald Trump displayed at the European Parliament and called for its immediate removal.
Fico said that although he did not agree with all of Trump’s policies, international partners should treat each other with respect. He described the display as inappropriate at a time when dialogue and cooperation are especially important.
The prime minister also criticised the European Parliament’s leadership and questioned whether similar depictions of French President Emmanuel Macron or German Chancellor Friedrich Merz would be tolerated.
