The European Commission has referred Slovakia to the EU Court of Justice over its failure to introduce an electronic system for temporarily storing goods in air transport. The Commission says Slovakia missed the deadline despite previous warnings.
Slovakia is also among nine EU countries facing further action for failing to submit draft national building renovation plans by the end of 2025. The countries now have two months to respond and submit their plans, or the Commission could take the cases to the EU Court of Justice.
Separately, the Commission is urging Slovakia to fully comply with EU rules on the recognition of professional qualifications, particularly procedures for recognising internships completed abroad.
