A nationwide fundraising campaign in Slovakia is once again focusing attention on mental health, particularly among young people. The Dni Nezábudiek collection, organised by the League for Mental Health and held for more than two decades, started in October and is being held online this year.
Proceeds will fund Mental Health First Aid training for parents and teachers. The certified programme aims to help adults recognise signs of mental health difficulties in young people, talk about them sensitively and know how to respond when support is needed. Organisers say keeping mental health in focus is especially important during periods of increased stress and uncertainty.
