The Slovak Academy of Sciences, or SAS, has condemned a Russian drone attack that set fire to the historic building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in central Kyiv on Monday. SAS said the attack was an assault on knowledge, education and cultural heritage, and expressed solidarity with Ukrainian scientists and staff working in the building.
The academy said it remains ready to support Ukrainian researchers and continue cooperation with scientific institutions in Ukraine. It also called on academic institutions across Europe and beyond to condemn the attack.
