President Peter Pellegrini has ceremonially presented battle flags and attached ribbons to the battle flags of selected units of the Slovak Armed Forces at the 21st Mechanized Battalion in Trebišov, eastern Slovakia.
At the ceremony, Mr Pellegrini said the trust enjoyed by Slovak soldiers was a valuable asset that strengthened Slovakia’s security and defence capabilities. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Miroslav Lorinc, also attended.
According to the president, the security environment is changing and the country must respond to threats that do not take the form of conventional military conflict.
