Slovakia’s coalition leaders have agreed to present a political deal on next year’s state budget in the coming days, following talks by the coalition council on Monday. Governing SMER-SD parliamentary leader Ján Richter said the coalition would not support a budget that cuts existing social measures.
The main opposition party, PS, has criticised the government’s approach, accusing the coalition of preparing a so-called “campaign budget” aimed at delivering its political promises.
