Slovak Parliament Faces Busy Autumn Session

MPs opened the September session of the National Council on Wednesday. Their agenda includes 295 items, such as the "Vision Slovakia 2040" document, amendments to the Civil Code, and deliberations on next year's budget. Although the coalition acknowledges that proceedings could drag on until Christmas, the opening of the session was preceded by a motion to dismiss Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba, an SNS nominee. The September session of the National Council continued Thursday with MPs deliberating on matters such as the deployment of troops abroad and a proposal concerning the Slovak Arts Council. Also on the agenda were two extraordinary sessions dedicated to the motions to dismiss the Minister of Economy and the Minister of the Interior.
