The minimum child support for a dependent child will increase from the current 30 percent to 100 percent of the subsistence minimum. Consequently, the monthly amount will rise from just under 40 euros to approximately 130 euros. This change stems from an amendment to the Family Act approved by the National Council, which was submitted by MPs from the coalition party Hlas-SD. Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family Erik Tomáš urged single parents who do not receive child support from the other parent to take advantage of the option to apply for substitute child support.
