President Peter Pellegrini on Sunday underlined the need to seek ways to bridge differences and maintain dialogue in society, even where this may seem no longer possible. He highlighted the need for mutual respect despite differing views. Pellegrini said the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows observed on 15 September should provide an opportunity to strengthen the cohesion of Slovak society, reaffirm shared values and focus on what unites people despite their differences. According to Pellegrini, people often fail to overcome personal barriers or animosities even when a greater good is at stake. "I firmly believe that we can bring respect and cohesion into our everyday lives and our joint actions," Pellegrini added.
