September 15 Public Holiday to Bring Repeat of May 8 Arrangements

The issues faced by businesses and citizens on May 8 will recur on September 15. Although September 15 remains a public holiday, it is not classified as a non-working day under the fiscal consolidation measures. Despite requests from both employers and trade unions for the government to amend the legislation, no changes have been made. Consequently, employees will receive either compensatory time off or a 100% wage premium.
