Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Erik Tomáš and Health Minister Kamil Šaško (both Hlas-SD) announced the fulfilment of an important milestone under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, i.e. improved e-government services in nine life events.
These events involve job loss, running a business, moving into new housing, birth of a child, sickness/caring for a sick relative, dependency/dependent family member, assistance in material need, retirement, as well as death and inheritance proceedings.
"I want to announce the completion of a significant milestone under the recovery plan, that is, improvement of state services in specific life events. A total of 16 priority life events were incorporated into the recovery plan. Nine of them concern our two ministries, and within these nine life events, we have delivered 58 specific improvements for employees as well as employers," said Tomáš.
"We had to deliver improvements in state services within these nine specific life events, because otherwise there was a risk that the milestone wouldn't be met and Slovakia would face major problems," explained Tomas, adding that a European Commission (EC) committee provisionally concluded that the system is functional.
"The final confirmation will come in two steps. First, an audit will be carried out as usual in October. The final confirmation will only arrive when the payment request concerning this milestone is formally approved by the EC," stated Tomáš.
According to Šaško, all the digital services were tested within the specified deadlines, i.e. by 31 July this year. "This deadline was met. The system had already been successfully tested within the so-called pre-production environment, where live operation is simulated, but not using real patients. Subsequently, once these tests had been passed, the relevant legislation took effect on 1 August, after which the services were gradually launched and tested in the production environment," said Šaško.
"We're now entering a transitional period. This means that these services will not automatically be in full operation from tomorrow; instead, there will be a six-month transitional period until the end of January 2027, during which the individual services will be implemented and undergo conformity verification," added Šaško.
