The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador to Slovakia to express its strong disagreement with a Russian attack on a Ukrainian security service building in Kyiv on Friday, September 4. The building is located near the Slovak consular section.
"The Ministry condemned the Russian attack by a jet-powered drone on the building of the Ukrainian security service located near the consular section of the Slovak Embassy in Kiev. The Slovak diplomatic mission uses these premises to a limited extent for security reasons, and therefore no one was present there," the Foreign Affairs Ministry said.
The attack has also prompted renewed concerns among Slovak politicians that the war in Ukraine is increasingly affecting Slovakia, including through hybrid threats. The opposition has called for a meeting of the Security Council to discuss the planned attacks.
