Slovakia’s governing coalition has yet to agree on next year’s state budget. Each coalition party is putting forward its own conditions. Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) says the budget can be approved if the parties are willing to listen to one another. The opposition is sceptical. It expects a deal to be reached at the last minute, while warning that Slovakia’s debt continues to grow.
