As part of its current V4 presidency, Slovakia has offered Bulgaria closer cooperation with the Visegrad Group, comprising Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. According to Prime Minister Robert Fico, there is potential to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in nuclear energy and defence, as well as in other areas, including gas supplies. During the official visit, Defence Minister Robert Kaliňák highlighted the importance of cooperation in military aviation. Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár noted that a meeting of V4 and Japanese foreign ministers was held this week. Slovakia has also offered Bulgaria the opportunity to participate in this format of cooperation.
