Slovak food products, agricultural machinery, animals, and a wide range of accompanying events will be featured at the 51st edition of the international agricultural and food exhibition Agrokomplex. The event opens at the exhibition grounds in Nitra on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and will run until Sunday, September 6.
According to exhibition center spokesperson Katarína Moravcová, Agrokomplex will also include the Agrosalón exhibition, the National Livestock Exhibition, and the Hunting, Forestry and Fisheries exhibition. “One of the main new features of this year’s event will be its combination with the Agrosalón exhibition, which will strengthen the presentation of agricultural machinery and modern technologies,” Moravcová said.
Visitors to the exhibition grounds will be able to see machines, tools, and solutions that help farmers work more efficiently and sustainably. There will also be demonstrations of machinery, driving skills competitions, and opportunities for meetings among industry professionals. The program will also include the AgroSkills competition, which focuses on the practical skills of students at secondary vocational schools.
The event will also feature the National Livestock Exhibition, showcasing the work of breeders and the importance of animal production. Visitors will be able to see horses, sheep, cattle, and other farm animals up close. “They will also see a traditional sheepfold, with demonstrations of working with animals and an authentic rural atmosphere,” Moravcová said. According to her, Slovak food products, local producers, and farm products will also have a prominent place at the exhibition. Visitors can look forward to tastings, culinary demonstrations, farmers’ markets, producer presentations, and products based on quality, local origin, craftsmanship, and honest work.
Another accompanying exhibition will be Hunting, Forestry and Fisheries, aimed at nature, forest, and water enthusiasts. It will feature displays focusing on landscape management, hunting, forestry and fisheries, as well as professional presentations and accompanying activities. The program will also include interactive pavilions covering topics related to the Rural Development Programme, giving visitors an insight into regional development, innovation, agricultural support, and the future of the Slovak countryside. There will also be an exhibition of small-scale livestock featuring rabbits, poultry, and pigeons, as well as the popular Rabbit Hopping competition.
According to the organizers, an important theme of the 2026 edition will be the protection of animals and plants against pests. The exhibition will highlight the importance of prevention, monitoring, biosecurity, and cooperation among experts in protecting agriculture, food security, and the health of the countryside. “Agrokomplex also includes the Slovak Agricultural Museum, which offers a look at the history of agriculture, traditional crafts, and rural life. The program will be complemented by demonstrations, guided tours, an open-air museum, and the popular Tractor Parade. An international race-walking competition, the ACEROLA GRAND PRIX, will add a sporting atmosphere,” the organizers added.
