Nazi Criminal László Csatáry Prosecuted For War Crimes

On Tuesday, Hungarian prosecutors accused the 98-year-old alleged Nazi criminal László Csatáry of war crimes committed during World War II. The suspect was involved in the removal of 15,000 Jews living in Košice in Eastern Slovakia between May and June 1944, when he was in charge of the Košice ghetto.

The Jews were sent to Auschwitz. Csatáry was arrested in Budapest last July. A spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office Bettina Bagoly said the trial might begin within three months.
